How Connecticut taxes your paycheck in 2026

Connecticut taxes income at rates from 2% to 6.99%. For withholding, employers start from your annualized wages and the code you choose on Form CT-W4: a personal exemption (up to $15,000 single, $24,000 married, $19,000 head of household) and a personal tax credit both shrink as pay rises, and higher earners lose the benefit of the 2% and lower brackets. Paychecks also pay 0.5% for Connecticut Paid Leave, on wages up to $184,500. Traditional 401(k) contributions and pre-tax health premiums are not taxed.
